Earth Spirit vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a target as Earth Spirit is frustrating when Legion Commander is nearby. His entire initiation pattern of stuns, slows, and silences can be instantly removed by a single cast of Press the Attack. This not only saves Legion or her ally but completely wastes Earth Spirit's cooldowns and mana, leaving him vulnerable. Furthermore, while most heroes hate being moved around by Earth Spirit’s kicks and pulls, Legion Commander thrives on the chaos. It often brings her closer to a target, letting her turn his own disruption into a perfect setup for her Duel.

This dynamic makes the mid-game incredibly difficult for Earth Spirit. He’s an easy and valuable Duel target himself, and giving away that bonus damage is a huge problem for his team. His main job is to set up kills and control teamfights, but he can’t do that reliably when Legion Commander can either purge his setup or simply jump a core hero from off-screen. Earth Spirit is then forced to play reactively, trying to save a teammate after the Duel has already started, which is often far too late to make a difference.
