Earth Spirit vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Trying to secure a kill with Dismember feels unreliable against an Earth Spirit. He has several ways to interrupt the channel, either with a well-aimed Boulder Smash or the silence from Geomagnetic Grip. This same logic applies to saving his teammates; a quick kick or pull can completely ruin a successful Meat Hook, pushing Pudge away or pulling his target to safety before the damage comes out. Earth Spirit’s own mobility from Rolling Boulder also makes him a difficult target for Pudge to catch in the first place, letting him weave in and out of position.

This isn't a free game for Earth Spirit, though. If Pudge does manage to hook him, he's often fragile enough to die during the full Dismember combo, especially before he gets defensive items. Pudge also gets naturally tanky from Flesh Heap, letting him shrug off some of the sustained damage from Magnetize in teamfights. The matchup often comes down to execution: Earth Spirit's goal is to disrupt and save, while Pudge is looking for that one perfect hook on a key target. Whoever lands their spells more consistently in those moments tends to come out ahead.
