Earth Spirit vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Controlling the tempo against Undying can be difficult for a hero like Earth Spirit. A well-placed Tombstone spawns a crowd of zombies that Earth Spirit struggles to clear on his own. His spells are better at controlling or bursting a single hero, so he's forced to either waste his cooldowns hitting the Tombstone or try to navigate a swarm of slowing attacks. This makes it much harder for him to roll in, secure a kill, and get out. The constant strength drain from Decay also softens him up before he can even think about initiating, making any gank attempt riskier.

This dynamic means Earth Spirit has a harder time creating his usual early-game pressure. Instead of finding solo pickoffs, he often needs a teammate with wave clear to help deal with Undying's Tombstone before a fight can truly begin. The Undying's goal is simple: drop the Tombstone whenever Earth Spirit tries to start something. For Earth Spirit to succeed, he must play around Undying's cooldowns, find targets on the other side of the map, or rely on his team to provide the area damage he lacks, which can slow down his tempo.
