Earthshaker vs Gyrocopter

How this matchup plays

Picking Gyrocopter into an open Earthshaker often feels like a trap. The issue is that Gyrocopter’s own game plan plays directly into his counter's hands. He wants to stand in the middle of a fight and hit every enemy at once with Flak Cannon, often clearing creep waves at the same time. This clusters units together perfectly for Earthshaker. A single Echo Slam can turn Gyrocopter's ideal fighting scenario into an instant death, as the damage scales with every unit nearby. Fissure is also a reliable, long-range initiation tool that can easily catch the fragile Gyrocopter out of position.

Once Earthshaker secures a Blink Dagger, Gyrocopter has to play with constant fear. Pushing a lane or grouping with his team becomes a massive risk. A good Fissure can lock him down from the fog, and a follow-up combo will usually be lethal before he can even activate Black King Bar. The pressure falls entirely on Gyrocopter to maintain perfect, isolated positioning, which in turn reduces his own teamfight impact. Earthshaker simply has to wait for one mistake to turn the game around, making him a constant threat that warps the entire map for Gyrocopter.
