Earthshaker vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a perfect Echo Slam into a teamfight feels awful when the enemy carry just ignores it. Lifestealer’s Rage makes him immune to all of Earthshaker’s lockdown, which is the vast majority of his utility. He can’t be stunned by Fissure, Aftershock, or the Echo Slam itself. This means Lifestealer can stand his ground during Earthshaker's biggest moments, or simply run through the chaos to attack a vulnerable support in the backline. All the setup and area denial that Earthshaker brings to a fight is almost completely nullified against a Raged Lifestealer.

This dynamic forces the Earthshaker to play reactively. He has to wait for Rage to be used or expire before he can commit his own spells, which often means the fight has already swung in Lifestealer's favor. A patient Lifestealer will hold Rage specifically to counter the Blink-Fissure or Blink-Echo initiation, turning Earthshaker’s primary strength into a liability. While Earthshaker can still try to play around Lifestealer by stunning other heroes, the main carry being so untouchable makes it incredibly hard for Earthshaker's team to win a straight-up fight.
