Earthshaker vs Magnus

How this matchup plays

Trying to set up the perfect Reverse Polarity can be uncomfortable against an Earthshaker. The core of Magnus's game plan is to clump enemies together for his team to destroy. Unfortunately for him, this creates the absolute ideal scenario for a counter-initiation Echo Slam. Even before the main event, a well-placed Fissure can stop a Skewer charge cold or interrupt Magnus's Blink-in, completely derailing his setup and leaving him dangerously out of position.

This tension defines the matchup once both heroes have their Blink Daggers. The teamfight becomes a waiting game. Magnus wants to jump and catch Earthshaker in his ultimate, while the Earthshaker player has to position himself just outside the fight, ready to punish the moment Magnus commits. The Magnus player is forced to think twice about his initiation, knowing his own ultimate could be the reason he loses the fight. A successful jump on the right targets can still win the day for Magnus, but the constant threat of a turnaround makes things difficult.
