Catching Void Spirit is a test of prediction for Earthshaker. A Blink Dagger paired with any of his stuns can lock Void Spirit down instantly, which is exactly what you need against such a slippery hero. The challenge is that Void Spirit has his own instant-cast answer in Dissimilate, letting him dodge the initiation entirely if his reactions are sharp. Earthshaker's Fissure can also trap him, but Void Spirit can often use an Astral Step charge to get over it. This creates a high-stakes duel of who acts first and who anticipates the other's move.

Early on, Earthshaker mostly relies on Fissure to set up ganks, which Void Spirit can play around. Once Earthshaker gets his Blink Dagger, the dynamic changes.
