How this matchup plays

Interrupting Echo Stomp is Lion's main job in this matchup. He has two reliable ways to do it: Hex and Earth Spike. A patient Lion can hold his spells and completely shut down Elder Titan's primary teamfight setup before it ever goes off. On the other hand, Elder Titan's Natural Order aura strips away Lion’s already low base resistances, making him incredibly fragile. If the Stomp does land, Lion is an easy target for a follow-up Earth Splitter and will almost certainly die before the sleep even wears off.

The lane and mid-game revolve around this tension. Elder Titan wants to use his Astral Spirit to get vision and land a Stomp from an unexpected angle, securing a kill on a key support. Lion needs to anticipate this, maintaining good warding and positioning so he can see the channel start and react in time. Neither hero has a fundamental advantage; it all comes down to who gets the jump on the other. Fights between them are a matter of reflexes and who has better information, leading to a very even exchange.
