Ember Spirit vs Faceless Void

How this matchup plays

Catching Ember Spirit in a Chronosphere seems like an easy kill, but it rarely plays out that cleanly. Ember has multiple ways to play around it. With good reactions, Sleight of Fist can dodge the initial cast of the Chronosphere entirely. Even if caught, a well-placed Fire Remnant outside the bubble gives him an escape route the moment it ends. Faceless Void needs to catch him without a remnant available, or with a silence before the Chronosphere lands, which requires good coordination or a lucky opening.

The matchup often becomes a game of cat and mouse across the entire map. Ember Spirit wants to apply pressure and control the tempo before Void gets his core items, while Faceless Void is looking for that one perfect ultimate to turn a fight. A late-game Ember with the right items can survive the lockdown, and can even punish a poorly placed Chronosphere by hitting the rest of Void's team from safety. Success depends heavily on player execution and who gets the jump on whom.
