Ember Spirit vs Jakiro

How this matchup plays

Dealing with Jakiro’s constant spell spam is a lot more manageable for Ember Spirit than for most heroes. Flame Guard can absorb a significant amount of the magical damage from Dual Breath and Liquid Fire, allowing Ember to farm more safely in lane and even turn aggressively. Later on, his mobility from Fire Remnant and the defensive timing of Sleight of Fist make it very difficult for Jakiro to reliably land an Ice Path. This robs Jakiro of his main setup tool and leaves him vulnerable to being jumped on.

This dynamic usually lets Ember Spirit pressure Jakiro directly throughout the game. However, the advantage is slight because Jakiro’s contribution isn't limited to landing a perfect stun. In larger teamfights, Macropyre and the constant slows from his other spells create major problems, even if Ember himself survives the initial damage. Forcing Ember to play around huge zones of burning ground limits his options. Jakiro can also apply constant pressure to towers with Liquid Fire, forcing rotations and creating map control that Ember has to respect.
