How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down Ember Spirit with Marci often comes down to a split-second reaction. Marci has the tools to jump in with Rebound and hold him in place with Dispose, setting up a kill with Unleash. The problem for her is that Ember Spirit is built to dodge that kind of single-target initiation. He can use Sleight of Fist to avoid the initial stun or have a Fire Remnant ready to escape the moment he's free. If Marci can't burst through his Flame Guard and kill him inside her stun duration, Ember gets away clean, wasting her cooldowns.

The game then becomes a contest of who can control the map. Ember Spirit wants to split-push, forcing Marci's team to react and leaving them unable to group for objectives. Marci, in turn, will try to force the issue with smoke ganks, often targeting Ember's teammates since he is so difficult to catch.
