Ember Spirit vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Trying to pin down Ember Spirit often feels like a frustrating exercise for Clockwerk. The core of Clockwerk's gank, trapping a target in Power Cogs, is completely undone if Ember has a Fire Remnant ready to escape. Even landing the initial Hookshot can be difficult, as a well-timed Sleight of Fist can dodge the projectile entirely. However, the matchup isn't one-sided. If Clockwerk catches Ember without an escape Remnant, Battery Assault quickly breaks through Flame Guard and the mana burn from Cogs leaves him helpless. This makes every engagement a test of cooldowns and reaction time.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces a tense cat-and-mouse situation. Clockwerk needs to find Ember out of position, often with smoke or from a blind spot, to guarantee the kill before a Remnant can be activated.
