Enigma vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Thinking of Vengeful Spirit as a hard counter to Black Hole is a common trap. Her Nether Swap can indeed cancel the channel from a long distance, even through spell immunity, which is a powerful tool. Magic Missile provides another instant stun if Enigma hasn't bought a Black King Bar. This potential for interruption is always in the back of Enigma's mind. The catch is that Vengeful Spirit must be alive, in position, and have her abilities ready. If she gets caught in the Black Hole herself or is forced to use Swap for something else, the threat disappears completely.

This dynamic creates a standoff in the mid and late game. The Enigma player has to be more patient, looking for a moment when Vengeful Spirit is distracted, dead, or out of position before committing his ultimate. His team might even need to focus her down first. On the other side, Vengeful Spirit's team plays with a safety net, relying on her to shadow Enigma and trade herself to stop a fight-turning spell. This constant pressure can force Enigma into suboptimal plays or delay his impact, giving Vengeful Spirit's side a slight edge in late-game scenarios.
