Faceless Void vs Morphling

How this matchup plays

Getting caught inside a Chronosphere is rough for any carry, but Morphling finds it particularly difficult. His entire survival plan relies on being able to use Attribute Shift to gain health or Waveform to escape, and Chronosphere locks him out of both. This creates a clean window for Faceless Void and his team to focus down the Morphling without any tricks. If Void's team lacks the damage to finish the job inside the ultimate, however, Morphling can often survive and turn the fight, which keeps the matchup from being too one-sided.

The mid-game is all about playing around Chronosphere's cooldown. Faceless Void wants to find an opening to catch Morphling and end his game early. In response, Morphling has to position extremely cautiously, wait for Void to commit his ultimate on a different target, or build enough raw stats to simply live through the duration. Once Morphling has a few big items, he can be a real threat to Void outside of the Chronosphere, but having to constantly respect that single ability gives Void the initiative for most of the game.
