Faceless Void vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Fighting a Faceless Void often comes down to playing around Chronosphere. While trapping Phantom Assassin in it is a huge advantage, it doesn't guarantee a kill. PA's Blur remains active even when she's frozen, so Void's attacks can still miss unless he has items to grant true strike. This gives PA a fighting chance to survive the duration and turn the fight with lifesteal or help from her team. On the other hand, PA's own burst damage from criticals can be enough to kill Void before he can react with Time Walk, especially if she gets the jump on him first.

As the game goes on, this matchup becomes a duel of positioning and itemization. Faceless Void will prioritize getting a Monkey King Bar to deal with Blur, and a good Chronosphere can decide a teamfight. Phantom Assassin's goal is to play on the edges of the fight, waiting for Chronosphere to be used or for a chance to burst an isolated target. She can also build items to survive Void's initiation.
