Faceless Void vs Troll Warlord

How this matchup plays

Picking between these two heroes often comes down to who you trust to control the fight. The entire matchup revolves around Chronosphere. If Faceless Void lands his ultimate on Troll Warlord, Troll is completely helpless and usually dies, as Battle Trance provides no defense while time is stopped. This makes Void's initiation incredibly threatening. However, if Troll can position to avoid being the primary target, he becomes a massive problem for Void's team, who are now dealing with a raging carry while their own is committed inside his ultimate.

As the game progresses, both carries are racing for items that define their power spikes. Faceless Void is constantly looking for that perfect opportunity to jump and delete Troll Warlord from the fight before he can react. Troll plays around this by either forcing Void to use Chronosphere on his teammates or by building items to survive the initial burst. It becomes a tense standoff where the first person to mis-position or misuse their ultimate will likely lose the teamfight, and potentially the game.
