Troll Warlord (Troll) Counter Picks — 7.41f
Who counters Troll Warlord (Troll) in Dota 2 7.41f? Counter picks and matchups for Troll Warlord, ranked by win rate from ranked matches.
Troll Warlord is a fast-fighting carry who swaps between ranged and melee, blinds with Whirling Axes, and grants the team huge attack speed with Battle Trance. He's strong into immobile heroes he kites and shreds: Timbersaw, Storm Spirit and Templar Assassin lose the right-click war. Troll is countered by lockdown and scalers that beat his all-in: Axe Calls him out of Battle Trance, Tidehunter Ravages him, and Spectre or Wraith King out-scale or out-tank. Draft tip: Troll Warlord is a strong mid-game right-click carry into squishy drafts; he's countered by hard-lockdown (Axe, Tide) and late-scaling tanks.
In Dota 2 7.41f, the heroes that counter Troll Warlord hardest are Wraith King, Outworld Destroyer and Slark — Troll Warlord wins only 46.2%, 47.3% and 48.3% of ranked matches against them.
How to counter Troll Warlord: why these picks work
- Wraith King — Bash pressure and Trance decide fights by attrition — but attrition against two health bars and a lifesteal aura is a bet Troll usually loses.
- Outworld Destroyer — Astral Imprisonment deletes Troll for the exact seconds Battle Trance burns — his forced attack window ticks away while he floats in a prison.
- Axe — Berserker's Call plus Counter Helix converts Troll's own attack speed into damage taken — the faster he swings, the faster he spins himself down.
- Ancient Apparition — Battle Trance sustains through lifesteal, and Ice Blast bans healing outright: a Trancing Troll inside a shatter zone is committed to a fight he cannot drink from.
