Faceless Void vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Saving an ally with Snowball looks like a good answer to Chronosphere on paper, but the ultimate freezes the Snowball mid-air. This leaves both Tusk and his intended target stuck and helpless. Faceless Void also has the perfect defensive tool in Time Walk, letting him dodge Ice Shards or undo the damage from a Walrus Punch combo. If Tusk does manage to get his spells off, a good Time Dilation from Void will severely punish him, slowing his attack and movement speed and extending his cooldowns so he can’t contribute effectively.

This dynamic means Tusk has to play perfectly around Chronosphere, while Faceless Void has a built-in counter to almost everything Tusk wants to do. In lane, Void can farm relatively safely, and in mid-game fights, his ultimate is a much stronger initiation tool. Tusk's role is to catch key targets, but he becomes the easiest target on his team whenever Chronosphere is available. He can’t initiate on Void, and he can't save anyone from him, which fundamentally breaks what his hero is designed to do.
