Faceless Void vs Winter Wyvern

How this matchup plays

Landing a good Chronosphere is tricky when a Winter Wyvern is on the other team. Her spells can directly counter it. She can cast Cold Embrace on Faceless Void's primary target, making them immune to all the physical damage he's trying to deal inside the bubble. Alternatively, her ultimate, Winter's Curse, can taunt Void's teammates standing outside the Chronosphere, forcing them to attack one of their own. This completely disrupts the fight's focus and can turn Void's big moment into a disaster for his team.

The outcome of these fights really depends on who gets caught. If Faceless Void can initiate on and trap Winter Wyvern herself, her defensive spells are useless and his team can usually win the fight cleanly. This forces Wyvern to play from extreme range, waiting for the Chronosphere to be placed before she moves in to use her spells. Void can try to play around this by having his team ready with magic burst to finish off a Cold Embraced target, or simply by focusing someone Wyvern can't reach in time. It’s a pure execution check for both players.
