Nature's Prophet vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Sprout is a death sentence for most heroes, but Lifestealer has the tools to deal with it. While he can't walk through the trees, he can activate Rage to become immune to any magical follow-up and then simply attack his way out. This turns Nature's Prophet's primary lockdown tool into a minor inconvenience. Because Lifestealer is built to stick on a single target and sustain through fights, he can often ignore everything else to run straight at the fragile Prophet, who lacks the burst damage or reliable stuns to stop him once he's close.

This dynamic makes split-pushing, Nature's Prophet's main job, extremely dangerous. Lifestealer is a fantastic hunter of isolated heroes, and the Prophet is a prime target all game. Trying to teleport to a lane and pressure a tower often ends with Lifestealer showing up and running him down before the channel can finish. In teamfights, the Prophet has to play from an extreme distance, because if Lifestealer ever decides to target him, there's very little the Prophet or his team can do to peel him off once Rage is active.
