Nature's Prophet vs Magnus

How this matchup plays

Pushing a side lane feels incredibly dangerous against a Magnus. Nature's Prophet relies on creating pressure with Treants and his global presence, but Magnus dismantles this strategy piece by piece. Shockwave and Empowered cleave melt waves of Treants, neutralizing the split push. More importantly, Magnus is one of the best heroes at punishing a solo hero caught out of position. A Blink Dagger followed by Skewer or Reverse Polarity spells death for a fragile Nature's Prophet, and Sprout is completely ineffective at stopping a hero who can charge right through it.

This threat comes online the moment Magnus finds his Blink Dagger and never really goes away. Nature's Prophet is forced to play with extreme caution, as any attempt to pressure a tower can be turned into a free kill. Magnus can simply wait in the trees for the Teleport to finish, punishing the core gameplay pattern of his opponent. This forces the Nature's Prophet into buying defensive items to survive the initiation, slowing down his own farm and impact. All game, Magnus dictates where Prophet can and can't be on the map, effectively shutting him down.
