Nature's Prophet vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Sprouting Phantom Assassin is often a losing play, since she can simply use Phantom Strike on a nearby unit—including one of Nature's Prophet's own Treants—to escape the trees instantly. Her evasion from Blur also makes it very hard for Prophet to deal meaningful damage with his right-clicks or his summons. This combination means she can both ignore his main form of control and mitigate his primary source of damage, leaving Nature's Prophet with few effective tools to deal with her at any stage of the game.

This dynamic makes the mid and late game incredibly dangerous for Nature's Prophet. His typical strategy of split-pushing leaves him isolated and makes him a prime target for a hero who excels at hunting. Phantom Assassin can close the distance immediately, and Prophet is usually too fragile to survive her initial burst long enough for Teleportation to finish. His only recourse is to build defensively and stick with his team, which severely limits his global impact and forces him to play against his own strengths.
