Nature's Prophet vs Templar Assassin

How this matchup plays

Cutting out of Sprout with a few basic attacks makes Templar Assassin a nightmare for Nature's Prophet. His primary lockdown and ganking tool is largely nullified, since she can almost always free herself before help arrives. On top of that, Refraction is extremely effective at blocking the damage from Prophet's Treants and right-clicks, making it hard for him to win any direct trade. He can't reliably trap her, and he can't effectively damage her through her defensive shield. This fundamental interaction renders his kit much less threatening against her from the very start.

This advantage gets worse for Nature's Prophet as the game progresses. His strategy relies on split-pushing lanes to create map pressure, which is exactly what a Templar Assassin with a Blink Dagger wants to punish. She excels at finding and bursting isolated heroes, and Prophet's low health and armor make him a prime target for a quick Meld strike kill. He is forced to play far more passively than he'd like, as any aggressive push is an invitation for TA to show up and kill him before he can teleport to safety.
