Nature's Prophet vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Picking Nature's Prophet feels like a gamble when Zeus might be on the other team. The core of Prophet's game is using Teleportation to create pressure where the enemy isn't, but Zeus completely shuts that down. Thundergod's Wrath reveals and damages every hero on the map, meaning Nature's Prophet can never safely split-push a lane or even farm the jungle on low health. It's a constant threat that punishes him for doing what his hero is designed to do. On top of that, Zeus's chain lightning spells make quick work of any Treants, halting Prophet's pushes before they even begin.

This dynamic gets worse for Nature's Prophet as the game goes on. Any attempt to pressure a tower is met with a global ultimate that makes him an easy target for a gank. He's forced to either play with his team—negating his split-push strength—or buy defensive items he might not want, slowing his impact. Zeus's team gets to play with a safety net, always able to locate and soften up the Prophet before a fight. The best Prophet can do is try to catch Zeus out of position with Sprout, but Zeus can often fight back effectively from a distance.
