Grimstroke vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down Spectre with Soulbind often feels pointless. The moment the leash attaches, she can use Haunt to teleport across the map and instantly break it. This makes Grimstroke's most powerful teamfight spell unreliable against her whole team as long as she's alive. Even outside of that interaction, Spectral Dagger lets her phase through terrain and escape ganks, making her a frustratingly slippery target for Grimstroke's slows and stuns.

As the game develops, Grimstroke is forced to either use Soulbind on other heroes or try to bait Haunt before a fight, which is rarely practical. A patient Spectre player will wait for the leash and then punish the wasted cooldown. Late in the game, Spectre's own plan is simple: Haunt onto the backline, find Grimstroke, and remove him from the fight before he can cast his spells. He's an easy, isolated target for Desolate damage and usually can't survive the encounter.
