Grimstroke vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Choosing a close-range initiator like Tusk becomes a serious risk when Grimstroke is on the other team. Tusk wants to isolate and burst a single hero, but Soulbind turns this plan on its head. Any single-target spells Tusk's allies use on his chosen victim will also hit a second hero, often Tusk himself if he's the one diving in. Furthermore, Phantom's Embrace is a major problem for Tusk, as the silence prevents him from using his spells. He's forced to waste precious time and auto-attacks breaking the latch instead of executing his combo.

This dynamic forces Tusk to play a much more passive game. Instead of confidently starting fights with Snowball, he's often holding it to save an ally who gets caught by Soulbind, breaking the leash by moving them apart. A Grimstroke can play aggressively, knowing that any attempt by Tusk to jump in can be punished by an Ink Swell stun or a well-placed Soulbind that neutralizes the aggression. Tusk is left looking for perfect, isolated opportunities that Grimstroke’s constant spell pressure and vision from Phantom's Embrace make very difficult to find.
