Grimstroke vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Fighting for map control is incredibly one-sided in this matchup. Grimstroke can use a single Stroke of Fate to clear out entire nests of Plague Wards from a safe distance, completely neutralizing Venomancer's main tool for farming, pushing, and providing vision. This doesn't just slow down Venomancer's economy; it makes him a much easier target. Without the safety net of his wards, the slow-moving Venomancer has no good way to dodge an incoming Ink Swell stun or kill the Phantom's Embrace latch before he's silenced and finished off.

This interaction lets Grimstroke's team dictate the pace of the whole game. They can safely push lanes where Venomancer has tried to establish a foothold and invade his jungle with impunity. Venomancer is forced to play defensively, unable to create the suffocating pressure he needs to be effective. His spells also have poor synergy with Soulbind, meaning Grimstroke's ultimate often finds an easy secondary target in Venomancer himself. Veno is left struggling to contribute while Grimstroke has a direct and efficient way to dismantle his entire game plan.
