Gyrocopter vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Getting close to Necrophos is a losing proposition for Gyrocopter. Heartstopper Aura constantly chips away at Gyrocopter for trying to use Rocket Barrage effectively, punishing him for his ideal positioning. Should Gyro activate Flak Cannon, Necrophos can use Ghost Shroud to negate all that physical attack damage, turning Gyro's main teamfight contribution into nothing. Any magic damage from Call Down that Necrophos does take is often healed right back up with Death Pulse, allowing him to easily outlast the initial assault.

This pattern makes mid-game fights extremely difficult for Gyrocopter. He's forced to rely on his team to deal with Necrophos, as he can't win a direct confrontation. The typical scenario involves Gyro committing to a fight, unloading his spells, and then finding himself unable to finish the job before Necrophos turns the engagement around. The threat of a Reaper's Scythe is always present, ready to delete Gyrocopter the moment he gets low. A Black King Bar is essential for Gyro, but it only buys a small window against a hero who excels in drawn-out fights.
