Gyrocopter vs Queen of Pain

How this matchup plays

Losing control of farming areas is the story of this matchup for Gyrocopter. Queen of Pain excels at punishing his immobility, using Blink to cross the map and find him while he's trying to accelerate with Flak Cannon. Her combination of a slowing Shadow Strike and heavy burst damage means that once she initiates, Gyrocopter has few options to survive without help. This constant kill threat forces him to play defensively, ceding dangerous parts of the map and falling behind in farm. Gyro simply can't push out lanes or jungle aggressively when QoP is missing.

This pressure continues straight into teamfights. Queen of Pain's main goal is often to Blink past the frontline and eliminate Gyrocopter with Sonic Wave before he can get his spells off. This forces the Gyrocopter player into a difficult choice: rush a Black King Bar and delay his damage, or risk getting instantly deleted in every engagement. While Gyro wants to stand his ground and deal sustained damage, QoP's mobility allows her to choose the exact moment to strike, making it very hard for him to have an impact.
