Hoodwink vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Catching a good Hoodwink requires specific tools, and Invoker happens to have a few that can work. Tornado offers a reliable way to get her out of the trees, scout for a Bushwhack trap, or interrupt a Sharpshooter channel from a safe distance. Once she's caught, spells like Cold Snap can keep her locked down long enough for a kill. Hoodwink, in turn, threatens Invoker by playing from fog and using Scurry to stay hidden along the treeline. A well-placed Bushwhack is often a death sentence for Invoker if he doesn't have a defensive spell like Ghost Walk ready.

The matchup often comes down to a game of vision and positioning. Invoker wants to force fights into the open lane or river where Hoodwink has fewer trees to use for her escape or setup. He can use his global presence with Sun Strike to punish her for showing on the map. The Hoodwink player's goal is to do the opposite, sticking to the map's edges and waiting for Invoker to overextend. She'll try to find him with a stun from the trees, enabling a quick burst kill before he can get his own spell combo off.
