Hoodwink vs Lich

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a full combo on a target as Hoodwink can be frustrating when Lich is on the other team. A well-timed Frost Shield will reduce a huge chunk of the damage from Acorn Shot and Sharpshooter, often allowing the target to survive what would otherwise be a kill. The shield also applies a strong slow to Hoodwink if she's attacking the shielded ally, making it harder for her to reposition or escape after committing her spells. This single ability directly undermines Hoodwink's primary goal of bursting down a key enemy from a safe distance.

This advantage for Lich plays out from the laning stage onward. He can protect his core from harassment, and later in the game, he can save allies from Hoodwink’s gank attempts across the map. Hoodwink needs to be more patient, waiting for Frost Shield to be used on a different target before committing her ultimate. She can also be punished by Chain Frost if she gets caught in her own Bushwhack stun alongside an ally. The matchup isn't one-sided, as Hoodwink's mobility allows her to play around other parts of the map, but Lich's defensive utility makes her job consistently more difficult.
