Hoodwink vs Rubick

How this matchup plays

Stealing one of Hoodwink's spells presents Rubick with a situational puzzle. The best prize, Bushwhack, offers a powerful stun, but it requires a nearby tree to cast. This means Rubick can't use it on the fly and needs the fight to be in the right part of the map. The other spells are less game-changing; Acorn Shot is a minor pickup, and stealing a fully charged Sharpshooter is difficult since Rubick has to expose himself to do it. Because of these constraints, Rubick often finds better targets for Spell Steal among Hoodwink’s allies.

The direct confrontation between them is more about positioning and initiative. Rubick has a reliable way to disrupt Hoodwink by using Telekinesis to cancel her Sharpshooter channel or to lift her out of the trees, breaking her Scurry escape. This can be enough to foil a gank. Hoodwink, however, wants to use her mobility and tree cover to land a full burst combo before Rubick can even react. The outcome often depends on who gets the jump on whom, leading to a balanced exchange where neither hero has a clear, built-in advantage.
