Landing a Bushwhack from the trees gives your team a rare window to lock down and burst an elusive Tinker. Since he often farms and repositions near the treeline to stay hidden, Hoodwink has a natural advantage in setting up these ambushes. Her Sharpshooter also provides a long-range tool to finish him off as he tries to teleport away or reposition after a fight. The slow from a fully charged shot can be enough to secure a kill that would otherwise escape, but these tools rely on prediction, as a good Tinker is quick to react with Blink Dagger.

This matchup often becomes a game of cat and mouse. Hoodwink uses Scurry to patrol the woods, looking for an opportunity to catch Tinker while he's pushing lanes with March of the Machines. A successful gank can cripple Tinker's momentum, but failing to find him allows him to farm uncontested and eventually overwhelm your team. The slight advantage for Hoodwink comes from having a dedicated kit for this hunt, forcing the Tinker player to constantly anticipate ganks and play perfectly around vision to avoid getting caught.
