Invoker vs Jakiro

How this matchup plays

Stacking all that area denial from Jakiro seems like it would shut down a combo hero, but his spells are too slow and telegraphed to reliably catch an Invoker. The cast delay on Ice Path gives Invoker plenty of time to reposition, and a static ultimate like Macropyre is easy to walk out of. Meanwhile, Jakiro's own poor mobility makes him a perfect target. A simple Cold Snap can lock him down for an eternity, and he lacks any real escape once Invoker decides to go on him. Invoker's kit is far more reactive and better at punishing a slow target.

This dynamic holds true all game. Invoker is hard for Jakiro to gank because of Ghost Walk, and in teamfights, a single Tornado can nullify Jakiro’s entire setup. Invoker can even use Deafening Blast to reposition enemies inside Macropyre, turning the spell against Jakiro's own team. Ultimately, Jakiro ends up needing other heroes to provide the primary lockdown for his spells to connect, whereas Invoker is much better at finding and eliminating the slow-moving dragon all by himself.
