Invoker vs Kez

How this matchup plays

Trying to parry Invoker's spells as Kez can be a guessing game. A successful parry on a key spell is powerful, but Invoker has a whole arsenal of different disables and damage sources he can lead with. He might bait the parry with a simple Cold Snap, then follow up with a Deafening Blast, or chain multiple forms of control together faster than Kez can react to them all. Kez excels at dueling by outplaying a single big moment, but Invoker’s flexibility makes it difficult to predict which spell is the right one to block, putting the pressure on Kez to make the right call.

This dynamic plays out in teamfights where Invoker can often control Kez from a safe distance. Kez wants to close the gap and start a duel, but Invoker can use spells like Tornado or Ice Wall to stop him before he even gets on top of a target. To succeed, Kez needs to play patiently, waiting for Invoker to use his important cooldowns on someone else before committing, or by building a Black King Bar to ignore the lockdown. It’s a solvable problem, but Invoker’s toolkit gives him more options to set the tempo of a fight, creating a slight edge.
