Invoker vs Leshrac

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can run an Invoker down with raw damage often ends badly. Leshrac wants to get close and overwhelm targets with Pulse Nova and Diabolic Edict, but Invoker has multiple ways to keep him at bay. A Quas Wex build can chain-disable Leshrac with Cold Snap and Tornado, draining his mana and preventing him from ever getting his spells off. An Exort build can simply out-range him, bursting him with a Sun Strike and Meteor combination from a safe distance. Either way, Invoker has the tools to control the engagement from the start.

This matchup becomes a race of timings. Leshrac's goal is to pressure towers relentlessly, forcing Invoker to react and creating chaos on the map. As soon as Leshrac gets a Black King Bar, the dynamic can shift, allowing him to ignore Invoker’s control and charge into the backline. Invoker’s team has to play around that BKB timing, using positioning and kiting to survive. The outcome usually depends on which hero hits their item timings first and is better able to execute their game plan around key objectives.
