Invoker vs Marci

How this matchup plays

Closing the distance is the whole game here. Marci lives to jump on fragile backline heroes, and Invoker is a prime target. If she gets on top of him with Rebound and starts hitting, he's usually dead before he can react. The problem for Marci is that Invoker has a whole toolkit for stopping her. A well-placed Ice Wall or a preemptive Tornado can completely nullify her initiation. Even a simple Cold Snap can interrupt her combo and give Invoker the time he needs to either escape with Ghost Walk or turn the fight with his own spells.

The outcome often depends on who gets the drop on whom. A Marci with a Blink Dagger can find and delete an out-of-position Invoker before he knows what's happening. But a prepared Invoker who positions well behind his team can control the fight from a safe distance. He'll use his spells to keep her away or punish her if she overextends. This creates a constant cat-and-mouse dynamic where the fight is less about the heroes themselves and more about vision, positioning, and which team better enables their core to execute their plan.
