Invoker vs Mirana

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes over the other often depends on what kind of map control you need. The reason this matchup feels so even is that Mirana’s mobility is a natural foil to Invoker’s rigid spell combinations. Getting caught by Tornado or Deafening Blast is often a death sentence, but Mirana can use Leap to quickly create distance right after, making it much harder for Invoker to land a follow-up Sun Strike or Meteor. This forces the Invoker to rely on his teammates for more lockdown or have near-perfect timing, slightly disrupting his usual kill sequences.

The game then becomes a matter of who gets the drop on whom. A long-range Sacred Arrow that connects on Invoker will almost always lead to a kill, given how fragile he can be. Conversely, a roaming Invoker can easily hunt down Mirana with Cold Snap and Forge Spirits if he catches her out of position with Leap on cooldown. Because both heroes are excellent at initiating on a solo target, the advantage often swings back and forth based on vision control and who makes the first move.
