Invoker vs Nyx Assassin

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a full combo on someone feels awful when Nyx Assassin is on the enemy team. His Mana Burn is particularly effective against Invoker, who relies on a massive mana pool to stay active in fights. The bigger threat, though, is Spiked Carapace. If Invoker throws out a spell like Meteor or Deafening Blast, Nyx can activate his shell to reflect the damage and stun him, turning a potential kill into a disaster. This forces Invoker to hesitate and second-guess his own initiations, which is a major disruption.

This dynamic really kicks in during the mid-game. Nyx can roam the map with Vendetta, making it unsafe for Invoker to split-push or farm aggressively. Invoker is forced to play closer to his team and invest in items like a Ghost Scepter or rely on vision to avoid getting picked off. He can still be a global threat with Sun Strike and a teamfight powerhouse from the backline, but Nyx limits his options and forces him into a more reactive and defensive role. The pressure is constant, but manageable if Invoker plays carefully.
