Invoker vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Controlling the pace of the game is tough for both sides in this matchup. Pangolier's mobility from Swashbuckle lets him dodge many of Invoker's key spells like Chaos Meteor, making him a difficult target to pin down. This can frustrate an Invoker trying to build a lead through solo pickoffs. On the other hand, Invoker has multiple instant abilities that can stop Rolling Thunder completely. A well-timed Tornado or even a Cold Snap can neutralize Pangolier's main initiation tool, leaving him exposed and his team's plan in shambles.

This leads to a cautious dance around teamfights. Pangolier is constantly looking for an angle to roll in and disrupt Invoker before he can get his spells off, while the Invoker player has to hold a defensive spell specifically for that initiation. The lane can be difficult for Pangolier if Invoker goes for mana drain with EMP, but as the game progresses, it becomes more about positioning and who gets the jump.
