Invoker vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Deciding to pick Invoker into a Pudge creates a real test of skill and reaction time. The core dynamic is Pudge trying to isolate a single target with Meat Hook and Dismember, while Invoker has a whole arsenal of spells to interrupt him. A well-timed Tornado or Deafening Blast can completely negate a successful hook on an ally. Cold Snap can also stun Pudge out of his Dismember channel from a safe distance. This is a sharp contrast to how they work together, where a Pudge hook perfectly sets up an Invoker's Sun Strike. As opponents, they're constantly trying to nullify each other's primary strengths.

Fights often come down to positioning. Pudge wants to find an angle where Invoker can't see the hook coming, as Invoker is a fragile hero who doesn't like being pulled out of position.
