Invoker vs Ringmaster

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Ringmaster is usually a death sentence, but Invoker has an unusual number of ways to deal with it. He can scout for traps safely using Ghost Walk or save a caught ally with a well-timed Tornado. A Ringmaster often has to stand still to channel his abilities, making him a very inviting target for a Sun Strike from anywhere on the map. This constant global threat can force the Ringmaster to be more hesitant, which conflicts with his role as an aggressive initiator.

As the game progresses, Invoker’s ability to fight from a distance puts Ringmaster at a disadvantage. Instead of setting up his own team's perfect fight, Ringmaster is often forced to react to Invoker's spell combinations. The Ringmaster's best bet is to rely on smoke and surprise to land his lockdown, because a straightforward teamfight can be easily broken apart by spells like Deafening Blast. This creates a situation where Invoker has more options to control the engagement from a safe range.
