Invoker vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a full combo on Tidehunter is a frustrating experience for Invoker. The control from spells like Cold Snap or Tornado is often immediately removed by Kraken Shell, which makes landing a follow-up Meteor or Deafening Blast incredibly difficult. This forces the Invoker to either find a different target or use his spells for area denial instead of a direct kill attempt. Tidehunter, in turn, doesn't have the damage to threaten Invoker on his own, creating a lane and mid-game where neither hero can easily dominate the other.

This standoff continues into teamfights, where the matchup becomes about positioning and initiation. Tidehunter is always looking for an opportunity to Blink in and use Ravage, which can completely disable an immobile hero like Invoker. To win, Invoker needs to stay on the edge of the fight, using his long-range spells to control other enemies or chip away at the enemy team. The game often comes down to which hero's team can better enable their game plan: a huge teamfight ultimate from Tidehunter, or sustained control and damage from a well-positioned Invoker.
