How this matchup plays

Controlling creep waves and tower pressure tends to be a neutral affair. Magnus can often match the push that Jakiro creates with Liquid Fire, preventing him from easily taking early objectives. In fights, Magnus has a direct answer to Jakiro's positional spells. Skewer allows him to bypass the slow-moving projectiles and ground effects like Macropyre, either to escape or to initiate on a target. This isn't a one-sided interaction, though. Jakiro's Ice Path provides a reliable way to interrupt a Skewer or prevent Magnus from finding a good angle for Reverse Polarity, making spell usage a careful trade.

The game often boils down to a contest of key cooldowns. Magnus looks for an opening to use Reverse Polarity to catch Jakiro and his team, removing the constant slows and damage from the fight. Jakiro, in turn, holds Ice Path to stop that initiation or to lock Magnus down so his team can burst him. A successful Skewer can pull Jakiro out of position and away from the safety of his team, but a missed one leaves Magnus vulnerable inside Jakiro's layered spells. The outcome of their engagements frequently depends on which hero forces the other to react first.
