Picking Jakiro against Phantom Assassin often means relying on your teammates for lockdown. Jakiro's kit revolves around slow-moving spells and damage over time, like Ice Path and Macropyre. Phantom Assassin can easily dodge these with a well-timed Phantom Strike, and she usually buys a Black King Bar early, which nullifies all of his abilities. He lacks the instant control needed to reliably pin her down himself, making him a poor answer to her mobility once she has her core items.

The early lane can be decent for Jakiro, as his constant harass can make farming difficult for a fragile melee hero. The game turns once Phantom Assassin is ready to fight. She sees Jakiro as a primary target: a slow, squishy hero with no escape.
