Jakiro vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Thinking about picking Jakiro into a Sniper often means accepting that your spells won't hit their most important target. Jakiro's strength comes from landing stuns and slows like Ice Path and Dual Breath, but his cast ranges are a major liability here. Sniper simply operates from much farther away, safely outside the effective radius of Jakiro's entire kit. Trying to get close enough to land a combo usually means walking through the enemy team and a field of Shrapnel, which is a losing proposition. Sniper doesn't have to do anything special to win this matchup; he wins it by default through positioning.

As the game progresses, this problem gets worse. In a teamfight, Jakiro can throw down a perfect Macropyre, zoning out the enemy front line, only for Sniper to stand behind it all and methodically take your team apart. For Jakiro to contribute against him, he needs a Blink Dagger and a perfect flank, or his team has to be built entirely around diving the back line. Otherwise, Jakiro is left trying to control a fight that Sniper isn't even standing in, making him feel more like a liability than a powerful teamfighter.
