Jakiro vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

A late-game fight kicks off with a Haunt, and Jakiro is usually the first to die. The very spells he'd use to set up for an allied Spectre, like Ice Path, are too slow and telegraphed to save himself when she's the one hunting him. Spectre can pick her target from anywhere, and the slow, immobile support is a prime one. She can sidestep his control, and the damage from his spells is mostly over time, which isn't enough to stop her from killing him. If he's caught alone, Desolate makes it happen even faster.

Even if Jakiro has a good laning phase and bullies Spectre out, it rarely translates to a win. As soon as Spectre gets her core items, the game flips. She starts looking for pickoffs, and Jakiro is always an easy kill. Jakiro's team has to play incredibly fast and try to end the game before Spectre comes online, grouping tightly to protect him. But Spectre forces split fights all over the map with Haunt, which is where Jakiro is at his absolute weakest. He can't contribute if he's dead before the real fight starts.
