Keeper of the Light vs Mars

How this matchup plays

Trying to fight inside Mars's Arena of Blood is a completely different game when a Keeper of the Light is on the other team. A single cast of Blinding Light can shove multiple heroes out of the Arena, completely negating Mars’s signature ultimate. Before the fight even starts, Keeper of the Light can make Mars's life difficult by channeling Illuminate from a safe distance to constantly break his Blink Dagger. Even if Mars does manage to trap a target, Will-o-Wisp inside the Arena leaves him with nowhere to run from the repeated stuns.

This dynamic forces Mars to change his entire approach. He can no longer confidently blink on a group of heroes; he has to either initiate directly on the Keeper of the Light or wait for him to be dead. This is difficult because the Keeper naturally plays far in the backline. A patient Keeper player will simply hold his spells, knowing his mere presence forces Mars to hesitate or make a suboptimal play. If Mars can't get a clean Arena, his impact on the game is severely limited at all stages.
