Keeper of the Light vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Choosing one of these heroes into the other often hinges on who gets to act first. Storm Spirit wants to execute a clean initiation with Ball Lightning, but Keeper of the Light has a direct answer with Blinding Light. The pushback and miss chance can completely disrupt Storm’s combo, often forcing him into a bad position away from his intended target. On the other hand, if Storm Spirit can catch the Keeper out of position or silenced, he’s an easy kill. Keeper of the Light is fragile and has no mobility of his own, making him a prime target for a hero designed to pick off lone supports.

This back-and-forth defines the matchup at all stages of the game. A fight can be decided by whether Storm gets his vortex off before KotL can react with the push. Later on, teamfights revolve around this same interaction. A successful jump from Storm can eliminate a key hero instantly. A well-timed Blinding Light can save an ally and turn the fight by leaving Storm stranded and vulnerable to a counter-attack, especially if he gets hit by a charged-up Illuminate.
