Kez vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Thinking that Storm Spirit can easily kite a melee hero is a common mistake here. The reality is that Kez has the tools to completely turn a gank around. Storm relies on landing his initial burst after a Ball Lightning, but a well-timed parry from Kez can negate a huge portion of that damage. If Storm overcommits and gets stuck in melee range without securing the kill, he's in serious trouble. Kez thrives in those close-quarters duels and can switch stances to out-damage Storm once the initial magic burst is gone.

The matchup stays on a knife's edge for the whole game. A farmed Storm Spirit is afraid to initiate directly on Kez, knowing a failed attempt is a death sentence. Likewise, Kez can't reliably lock down and kill Storm Spirit by himself; he needs another hero to provide a silence or a long stun to get the job done. It becomes a game of chicken, with both heroes trying to bait the other's key defensive or offensive cooldowns before committing. Each one is waiting for the other to make the first mistake.
